Welcome to East Coast Thunder
Kennels
We want our kennel and our web-site to be
dedicated to competition; weight pulling, obedience and personal protection.
Sports such as these can be enjoyed by the whole family. These are
sports where your son, daughter, wife, along with yourself can be
involved. When you attend an event, look around, you will see everyone from young kids to grandpa and grammas participating in some way
or another. We will slowly but surely continue to add new
competition events. We will try to not only have still pictures but
lots of videos.
We choose our dogs from the best, proven lines
in sanctioned events. We are very impressed with the
Leavitt
Bulldog.
They have proven themselves in sanctioned events of the
IWPA,
APA
and Shutzhund training. TVB Eli (Owned and
trained by Maurice Mayo of ECTK)
is proving to be a fantastic weight puller already with many wins.
We also train in
Schutzhund
obedience, and personal protection.
David Leavitt has done a lot of research in order to develop the
Leavitt Bulldogs. He has studied period statues, paintings, prints,
and older dog books. Through his endless studies he has found that
Bulldog sizes varied during different periods, due to changes in the
way the baits were staged. Like all old working breeds, Bulldogs
were not bred to a strict standard. Their distinctive body, head,
and temperament, were dictated instead by the work they would be
called upon to do.
We will not only have my own dogs but you will be able to watch the
great pulls of TVB Dozer and Granite, owned and trained by Jim
Walters of M.A.C.K. ( Mountain Air
Competition Kennels)
who as been a great inspiration to our training program, plus many more
video's and pictures as
they are made available to us.
If you should have any question about training, up-coming events or
stud service, feel free to
contact me. Meanwhile
please enjoy our site.

Maurice Mayo has my admiration for his devotion and
skill in dog training.
He
is a big asset to our breed the Leavitt Bulldog.
I’m impressed by his skill, the joy he gets from his
relationship with his dog, and his desire to keep
learning and improving as a trainer. Seeing the
performance and enthusiasm his technique produces in
his dog, spurs me on to want to be a better trainer.
Thank you Maurice,
David Leavitt
